Members Online • My work is currently paying for my Ubers as they’re too expensive but they’re paying me in cash not card and I get it out the register as a cash payout. I ordered my Uber home, did the cash pay out and left. A nice drive with a kind driver. He made a single wrong turn After I got home from work I noticed an email receipt for $82.86. There was literally no reason but I had to put one down to even report it. And all I got was an automated response about “Dynamic Pricing” and $15 of Uber Cash(not even half of what I was upcharged). Oh and a long spiel about how these high prices are to encourage drivers to get their vehicles going in the hazardous winter conditions. But I know for a fact that’s not true because I asked him how much he was getting paid for this ride (when I only thought it to be $48.49) and he said $20. So they’re taking almost 60% of what they’re charging, but insist the prices are only this high and can change randomly for the drivers sake. This is for a 17 minute drive. I get it’s winter but god fucking damn. I wouldn’t be so mad if it mostly went to the driver, I mean I’d still be mad, but at least it’d go towards the person doing all the work.
