Derailing History:Hike & Mine Train TourYour experience starts with a short uphill hike on a dirt path through beautiful rocky mountain forests. If you want to take in the scenery, there are chairs and table provided along the path. At the end of the path awaits an Atlas K 2.5 Ton Locomotive. Climb aboard our charming refurbished minecars turned passenger cars and journey through the Colorado mountains with your conductor as your guide. But the ride is just the beginning as you stop along the way to learn about mining history and equipment.Walking back in time: The CenturionThe end of the track brings you to the entrance of the oldest part of the Phoenix Mine, known as the Centurion level. Grab a hard hat and lantern for this 400 foot walk into the dark. Your expert guide will share fascinating stories about the Centurion's rich mining history and geology. This one-of-a-kind tour highlights the mine's cave-like structures and fluorescent rock formations. End of the Track: It's all downhill from here!After exiting the Centurion Mine, hop back aboard the train and ride back to the other end of the track.
