Aasics shoes

May 12, 2014I spent a good deal of time researching these and reading reviews of countless shoes here on Amazon. I wanted a minimalist shoe that mimics many of the barefoot running shoes (i.e. vibram), with a bit more cushioning, as I primarily will use this shoe as a regular training shoe on paved roads, not trails. As a weekend 5k racer with a masters in biomechanics, I was hoping that this shoe was the perfect fit, (pun intended). After wearing them now for about 2 full weeks, I give them an average rating. Here's why:* This shoe really let me down in terms of the quality of the product that Aasics usually puts out there for runners. I've had many Aasics over the years and have never had a pair that let me down. I felt confident based on what I had read about these and given my past with Aasics that these would be no different. However, I felt that these shoes were just really cheap and lightweight versions of many of their other shoes. While they do fit true to size (I ordered a half size up, based on recommendations here, and was glad I did), they do not feel like they really "break in" as other running shoes tend to. Yes, they are super-light, but that doesn't mean they are minimalist. I have a pair of 5-Finger shoes and have trained in these for quite some time (I should preface that while I'd love to use
